Introduction

Introduction

This course introduces the fundamentals of computer-aided engineering methods for structural analysis and design in the context of building information systems. It covers the mathematical foundations used in engineering simulations, including ordinary and partial differential equations, and their application to physical problems such as heat flow and structural behavior. A major focus is placed on the finite element method (FEM), including 1D, 2D, and 3D elements used to model truss, beam, frame, and shell structures.
